Rainforest Estate Finlayvale wedding | Port Douglas wedding

Rainforest Estate Finlayvale wedding photos | Port Douglas wedding photographer | Cairns wedding photography

John & Liz were married at Rainforest Estate in Finlayvale – just 20 mins north of Port Douglas. It’s a stunning private property tucked away in the rainforest, surrounded by gorgeous cane paddocks, and with plenty of lush landscaped gardens.

They decided to have a small, intimate elopement wedding with 20 of their closest people. Not just a “wedding day” – this was a celebration over the course of a week, with everyone staying together and enjoying the warm tropical weather.

One of the most special parts of the day was John saying his own personal vows to Liz’s daughter – so touching (there weren’t many dry eyes at this point!).

After the ceremony, we headed out for a few photos around the grounds and nearby. A farmer down the road was burning off some sugar cane – and as the smoke haze drifted over the mountains in the background, it caught the golden sunlight just perfectly – giving the most beautiful warm glow.

They rejoined the guests with a sparkler entrance into their first dance, followed by a delicious family meal on the back deck.

This was my first visit to Rainforest Estate, it’s a stunning spot for a wedding – just to add to the huge range of options in the Port Douglas / Far North Queensland area.

Here’s a little sneak preview of Liz & John’s wedding day – enjoy!
