Welcome to the Sugar Wharf – one of Port Douglas’ most iconic wedding venues. Starting out as a blank canvas hire, you can literally do anything you want here! Outdoor spaces, indoor setups – the opportunities are endless 🥰
Sometimes, people opt to have their wedding ceremony elsewhere (like Little Cove, Rex Smeal Park, or St. Marys by the Sea) and then the reception at the Sugar Wharf.
However, for Milly & Rylie’s stunning wedding day, they opted for the ceremony outdoors on the deck at the Sugar Wharf – followed by drinks and mingling on the deck until sunset – and then heading indoors where the dinner & party side of things was set up.
If you’re planning to have your wedding ceremony out on the Sugar Wharf deck, make sure you’re prepared for the sun! It can get pretty hot out there, especially on a gorgeous blue day like they had. Everyone welcomed the warmth though – it helps when your guests have traveled up the the tropics to escape a cold winter … this is exactly what everyone signed up for!!
After the ceremony, we headed down for a few quick photos within walking distance of the Sugar Wharf – and then headed back inside to kick off the party!
