Tarah & Oussama were married at the cutest little venue in Port Douglas – Rob’s Shack. Sitting right on the beachfront at the bottom end of Four Mile, this place has the perfect little backyard for a wedding. This was my first time shooting there (in fact, I’d never even heard of it before Tarah got in touch with me) … but I’m sure it won’t be the last!

Tarah & Oussama met while working overseas, and the story of how their relationship has survived long distance, Covid, and literally last minute emergency visa approvals is seriously the stuff movies are made from.

Their day was shared with Oussama’s family via livestream, as they weren’t able to come to Australia … but I hear that there is going to be an Algerian version of the wedding at some point in the future, which sounds like an amazing (and big!) celebration.

After the ceremony, they acknowledged Oussama’s cultural heritage with a tradition involving feeding each other dates & milk … it was super cute and beautiful… and then I found out Tarah doesn’t even like dates haha.

The evening wrapped up with a first dance surrounded by sparklers – a magical end to a super magical day.

This is just a little sneak peek at how the photos are looking – I love the reflections of the sky on the wet sand of the beach!
